Q2.
How do you become an organiser?
- There are two types of organisers
1. Organisations;
Organisations include mosques as well as initiatives like MuslimIn.com that have been setup to serve the local area. We actively encourage local initiatives and are eager to link up all local initiatives to create a strong network of support. At the end of the day our aim is to ensure the right people are there at the right place at the right time talking to the right people.
In addition, to ensure that organisations continue their commitment we receive feedback from those in contact with them and use their feedback to evaluate whether they are providing all the necessary support.
2. Individuals;
To become an organiser, individuals who are interested in taking the responsibility register as either; Muslim Organisers or Muslim Convert Organisers. We require them to actively support others, whether it is people who are interested in Islam or people who have converted. Only individuals that believe they can be active should register to organise.
In addition, to ensure that organisers continue their commitment we receive feedback from those in contact with them and use their feedback to evaluate whether they are providing all the necessary support.
Q3.
Who are the people who can help me through your site?
- Below are the categories of people who are there to provide their guidance and support:
Organisations -
An organisation that is registered with us has the same goals and values as MuslimIn.com The organisations can be mosques, or initiatives like ours who while located in all parts of the world, share the same objectives and as such will provide active support for anyone needing it.
Muslim Organisers -
Muslim Organiser is a person who has registered with the objective of being an active member. They respond to questions, inform and attract people to the community arrange outings, and of course ensure that the right support and commitment is given to everyone.
An organiser covers the location they live in, they can however respond to requests from other locations e.g. you can have an organiser in Tokyo, responding to a request from Osaka, similarly you can have an organiser in Leeds responding to a request from Manchester, and in Moscow responding to a request in St Petersburg.
Muslim Convert Organisers -
Muslim Convert Organiser is a person who has converted to Islam, and is now a practising Muslim. They have registered with the objective of being an active member.
Muslim Friends -
Muslim Friends are individuals who have registered with us with the objective of being part of the international Muslim community. As part of the community they can participate in discussions, go for outings, attend events and be kept updated on the latest news.
However they are not active in their participation, which means while they are keen to be there, they will only participate when they can. How active they are is up to them, consequently in cities/towns where we do not have an organiser, Muslim friends can offer support.
Q4.
How do you ensure that Organisers live up to their commitment?
- To ensure that organisers meet the demands of the community, we require all those who have made contact with the organiser to submit a feedback form. The form we provide is completed and submitted back to us. We then evaluate all the forms for each organiser and assess his/her performance.
Q5.
How do you measure the success of your initiative?
- To give you an indication of how we measure our success, here are some of the things we review:
1. Feedback from community e.g.
* Support/complaint per month,
* Performance of organisers,
* Expectations,
2. Feedback from Organisers e.g.
* Number of active individuals per month
* List of issues faced
* Planned events
Q6.
As someone interested in Islam, how can I benefit from your website?
- You will have access to organisers who can assist you to understand what it means to be a Muslim. Organisers are your everyday people living their lives as Muslims, they are registered with us with the objective of helping you and others better understand the Muslim way of life.
Q7.
As a Muslim Convert, how can I benefit from your site?
- You may have converted to Islam recently or you may have been practicing for some time, in either case it is important to understand what it means to live a daily life as a Muslim, in addition you want to be able to relate to others like yourself. It is only natural that you want to share some time with people who share similar beliefs and values.
Since we are an international initiative, we have individuals registered with us from all parts of the world. So we hope there will be someone registered with us who is also in your town/city. If not you can always contact someone from a different part of the world, or someone who shares the same background.
Some Muslim converts register with us as organisers, which means that you can contribute to other individuals who have converted to Islam or who are keen to learn more. There are so many ways to benefit, you just have to become part of the community, and let things happen by the will of Allah.
Q8.
If I register a Muslim friend can I still help?
- If you register as a Muslim friend then you automatically indicate your willingness to be a part of what we're doing. The difference between you and an organiser is the responsibility of being the contact person who is active on a day to day basis. In other words you would like to help but you cannot always be there all the time. What happens is you are automatically part of the community in the location you live in, therefore as soon as organisers in your location prepare for outings or want community participation, they will automatically contact you. Similarly others may establish contact with you if they live in the same location, or vice versa. This means you're never left out!!!
Q9.
What happens after I register? And how do I contact people?
- After you register, only certain personal details appear (please refer to FAQ: Privacy of personal information). Once you login, you will find search facilities available that allow you search as follows:
1. By Country
2. By City
3. By Category e.g. Muslim Convert
Once you submit your search you will find all the individuals registered within your criteria.
* You can then scroll through all the community.
* Members write general comments which should give you an idea about the person.
* In order to establish contact there is a "Send Message" button next to each profile
* When you click on the "Send Message" an automatic message is sent to the person, which includes your contact email address
* This way we ensure that only people you want to contact will receive your contact address
* When the person receives the automatic message they can then respond to you on your contact email address
Q10.
How do I ensure the privacy of my personal information?

* We do not disclose any individuals contact details

Q11.
Do I contact organisers or do they contact me?
- It works both ways. You can contact organisers and they can contact you. Remember, an organiser might not know that you have just registered, and since so many people register everyday organisers may find it hard to keep up with who has joined. So it's best to search for organisers in your location, and send them a message, this way they know you're there, and can respond to your message
Q12.
Do I contact other people, or do they contact me?
- You can send a message to anyone you like, in any location. You can search for anyone in the community and send them an automatic message. This way they will know you are there and interested to talk.
Q13.
What do I do if I cannot find anyone in my area?
- If there is no one in your area, then please send directly to MuslimsIn.com and we will do our best to cater for you.
